Custom Website Development
Website Design
All of the websites that I build are completely custom and not based on premade templates. If you already have a vision of what you want to say on your website, then I’m the guy for the job. With my 8+ years of design and development experience in the industry, I can take your ideas and turn them into reality.
I’m a content-first design and development shop. You’ll be the most satisfied with my work if you know roughly what you want to say on your website, and are willing to take some time to compile content. If you’re looking for a one-stop shop to get your logo designed and all your web copy written, then we won’t be a good fit. However, I’m well connected in the Winston-Salem area and can always refer you to additional vendors who can work with you to develop content.
A typical website design build includes:
- As many pages as needed, from a single landing page to 50+ pages
- Incorporating your existing or new content written content and photos into the site
- Completely custom design based on your input
- Building custom content management tools (directories, audio archives, restaurant menus)
- An SEO-ready site (proper structure and design, fast load times, sitemap)
- Website analytics
- Reliable contact form delivery service
- Mobile-friendly, responsive design
- Hosting and domain setup
Typical build time: 4-7 Weeks

How I'm Different
My Website Design Philosophy
When it comes to building websites, many agencies and designers will take your money and force you into working with them long term, and in some cases hold your website hostage so that you can’t leave them. I don’t like that. I believe that if you pay for a product or service, you should own it. That’s why I go the extra mile to ensure that every service and tool is registered in your name, using your billing information. From the domain to the hosting, you own everything. So if you want to take your long-term business elsewhere, you don’t have to come chasing me down to hand over the login credentials.
What’s more, I’ll even show you how to edit your new website through video walkthroughs or written instructions. I build the majority of my websites using a visual builder on WordPress so that you can edit the site with ease — after all, it’s your website; not mine. Along this same note, I make sure that your website is easy to maintain. All too often, I hear from clients about how their old website looked fine, but wasn’t easy to update. I believe in building data-powered that look great even with a ton of information.
What to Expect
The Design Process
Plan
Every project starts off with a plan. I’ll sit down with you and talk about your goals with this website. You’ll get a rough idea of what it looks like, and we’ll end with an action plan of what information you need to gather.
Intake
Next, you’ll work on compiling content, pictures, logos, logins, and anything else that I need to build your website.
Build
The actual building process, on average, only takes 3-4 weeks. During this time you’ll get a live look at the site as I’m building it, plus we’ll be in contact regarding any and all modifications.
Publish
Once you’ve approved the final design, I’ll finalize the website and switch the domain over to point to the new website. I’ll show you how to edit your new website, too.
Going Local
The Winston-Salem Agency Scene
I’m just going to say it: there’s a lot of website designers in the United States. So why should you work with a small, local designer like myself? The reason is simple. I know the Winston-Salem, NC area and the companies who are based here. If you need to get connected with other business owners for more services like photographer, copywriting, logo designing, then I can help you out with that. Plus, because I live and work local, we can meet up locally and discuss your goals and aspirations for your website.
I’ve also seen first-hand how many marketing agencies treat their clients. Having previously worked for a marketing agency in Winston-Salem, I’ve worked directly with business owners who got burned by web design agencies. I heard story after story of small business owners getting overcharged for a very simple website, projects going on for months, agencies holding clients websites hostage and forcing them to pay for services they don’t need, and companies even wasting clients money through pointless services and add-ons.
Another common complaint I hear is that websites look good, but are a pain to update or impossible to navigate on the backend. As a full stack developer, I have the skills to design websites that look great but also connect to a powerful, simple backend that is easy to work with.
I’m in this field for the long run. Many agencies are in it to make a quick buck. So if you want to work with a designer who’s going to carefully evaluate your needs and make sure you’re satisfied, then give me a call at 336-582-1000 and we’ll see if we’d be a good fit.
